Brett-Robinson invites you to discover some of the events going on along the gulf coast, which are open to the public and ideal for the entire family to enjoy.

Brett-Robinson is proud to announce that the fifth year of the Alabama Coastal Triathlon was a tremendous success, with over 840 registered participants. Held on September 10th, the event invited participants to a 10k run, 40k bike ride or a 1.5k gulf swim. Also included was the beginners level Coastal “Tri-It-On” triathlon, which challenged entrants to engage in a 300 yard swim, 10 mike bike ride and 2 mile run. The triathlon was a great reason to get out in the sun, get exercise, and meet new people. We hope you’ll consider checking it out next year.

We have a great looking October coming up, with tons of events on the slate for residents and vacationers alike. On October 6th, Thunder on the Gulf 2011 kicks off with a splash! This event is sponsored by the Gulf Coast Powerboat Association and is ranked one of the Top 20 Events in the Southeast by the Southeast Tourism Society. Open to the public daily from 10 am to 8 pm, there will be races, live entertainment, a boat parade, a gala, a silent auction and more. Learn more about the powerboats racing, check out our event page for details. This “Nascar on the water” is not to be missed!

If you aren’t too worn out after all the excitement of Thunder on the Gulf, you can take the family over to Shrimp Fest, which begins on October 13th and features four days of music, food, and crafts. Presented by Zatarain’s, the festival celebrates its 40th year in 2011 and offers two stages and over 200 artisans. Don’t worry about kids getting bored, either: the Children’s Activity Village on site has plenty to keep little hands busy. Since it’s held on the beach, there’s also a sand-building contest, so if you’ve been building castles since you were a kid, it might be time to get out there and show off your skills.
