The global learning company Pearson announced Chris Dragon as President of Pearson Digital Learning, a business of Pearson School. The enterprise represents several of Pearson’s technology-based preK-12 education programs focused on personalizing learning, including: Waterford Early Learning, SuccessMaker, NovaNET Courseware, and Pearson Virtual Learning.
Dragon most recently served as Pearson Digital Learning’s Senior Vice President of Product Development.
Pearson School CEO Peter Cohen said, “With years of experience in the education industry plus his diverse business background, Chris has the vision, leadership skills and expertise to continue our efforts to extend learning beyond the classroom and provide engaging educational solutions that positively impact student achievement.”
Dragon said, “Our digital solutions help school districts and educators break the barriers of the traditional brick-and-mortar classroom. We look to serve all learners of all levels, including non-traditional students, in hopes of making education accessible to everyone anytime, anywhere.”
Cohen said that under Dragon’s leadership, the company launched Pearson’s iDEA Innovation Center, a digital laboratory focused on user-centered design, software usability testing, and efficacy research for evaluating and improving Pearson’s emerging offerings. He also helped to expand the accessibility and availability of the company’s fully digital programs to bring individualized learning to more students.
Prior to Dragon’s time with Pearson, he served as Chief Technology Officer at Thomson NETg where he was part of the team that was instrumental in inventing live, web-delivered and expert-led virtual classrooms. He also served as Vice President of Product Development and Operations and founding member of KnowledgeNet. Prior to KnowledgeNet, Dragon held various executive level positions including Vice President of Development and Delivery – Education for Platinum Technology, Inc.
Dragon succeeds Robert Roliardi, who recently retired.
