Richard C. Vie, chairman of the USNM Board of Directors, said the relationship between the Navy Memorial and USAA is a natural fit.
San Antonio, TX (PRWEB) October 05, 2011
USAA and the United States Navy Memorial Foundation – two national military-focused organizations – have joined forces to strengthen support to those who are serving in the military or who have honorably served, giving 696,000 USNM members access to USAA’s world-class insurance and financial services.
The agreement positions USAA as the exclusive provider of financial services to USNM members for insurance, banking, investments, brokerage services and financial guidance. USAA Federal Savings Bank makes a contribution to USNM with every new USAA Rewards™ World MasterCard ® credit card account opened and each time USNM members make an eligible purchase with their USNM USAA Rewards™ World MasterCard ® credit card.
Richard C. Vie, chairman of the USNM Board of Directors, said the relationship between the Navy Memorial and USAA is a natural fit. “Our mission is to honor the men and women of the sea services and their families, and there is no better way to do that than by seeing to their financial needs. We are excited to be a part of the USAA affinity family.”
Rear Admiral John Townes III, USN (Ret.) and USAA’s senior vice president of Military Affairs, added that the alliance provides a unique opportunity for USAA to demonstrate its continued support to the men and women of the United States Navy, Marine Corps and Coast Guard. “USAA strives to be the provider of choice for service members, veterans who have honorably served and their eligible family members, and the outreach we do to serve our members parallels that of the Navy Memorial.”
USNM members who establish USAA membership through the purchase of an auto or homeowners insurance policy can also share the benefits of USAA with their qualified family members.

About the United States Navy Memorial
When Charles L'Enfant was designing the Nation’s Capitol in the 1800’s, his plan included a Navy Memorial. However, it wasn’t until 1987 that his vision became a reality and the USNM was constructed on Pennsylvania Avenue between the White House and the U.S. Capitol. From its beginning, the USNM was meant to be a living memorial that includes both a Naval Heritage Center and a commemorative public plaza, where the iconic Lone Sailor statue stands watch over a map called the Granite Sea. Washingtonians, tourists, veterans, and current Navy and sea services personnel can participate in various activities at both the indoor and outdoor portions of the Navy Memorial. USAA provides insurance, banking, investment and retirement products and services to 8.4 million members of the U.S. military and their families. Known for its legendary commitment to its members, USAA is consistently recognized for outstanding service, employee well-being and financial strength. USAA membership is open to all who are serving or have honorably served our nation in the U.S. military – and their eligible family members.
