When someone thinks of jail, the last thing that probably comes to mind is an online community. The team at Jail Resource is working on changing that. JailResource.com is an online community helping jail inmates, friends, and family. Using the community forums enables users to ask legal questions, discuss conditions at jails, and converse with people who have shared similar experiences. If a visitor can’t find an answer on the community forum, then visitors can probably find it in their database covering details on nearly 4,000 county and local jails.

Why a community? Why JailResource.com? As of 2010 the Department of Justice Bureau on Justice Statistics reports there are over 809,000 people in incarcerated in local and county jails. Thousands of people are taken to jail daily in the United States. The United States is the most incarcerated country in history. People need a place where they can go for answers and support.

“When a friend or family member goes to jail you want answers and you want to be in a place where people understand what you’re going through. You also want help getting your loved ones out of jail. That’s why we created Jail Resource.” says co-founder Chris Nizzardini.

Jail Resource is also making it easier for people to find bail bonds by creating a nation-wide network of bail bond professionals. To date, over 50 bail bond agents have joined the Jail Resource family enabling thousands of people to easily locate bail bond agents.
