The EurekaMag Science Magazine has just published an extensive review on Nanocolloid which originates from electric-field-induced phase separation using nanotechnology. This 5-page bulletin focuses on the material's use in biomedical applications.

The Science Magazine EurekaMag.com provides insights into specific scientific topics. This number is steadily rising and the latest contribution is a review on nanocolloid. This review expands on the medical use of nanocolloid as a gel carrier, 99mTc-nanocolloid (technetium99m-labelled nanocolloid) and rhenium sulfide nanocolloid. It is used as a contrast agent for magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to produce high resolution, non-invasive images of the body's internal structure. It is particularly useful in cardiovascular research for visualizing blood clots in arteries, which can cause heart attacks and strokes. These colloids can be easily metabolized and excreted by the human body. Other applications include novel formulations such as nanocolloid lotions which are highly effective and convenient therapies for the treatment of superficial basal cell carcinomas.

This review is part of the extensive Science Keywords category of the EurekaMag.com website which contains many other medical topics as well as topics within the life sciences, earth sciences and environmental sciences. For easy retrieval these reviews are sorted alphabetically.

EurekaMag.com was initially launched in November 1998 as the online version of the French science magazine "Eurêka - Le magazine des sciences" published by Bayard since 1995.
