We are delighted to work with our local police department to fund the cost of a replacement K-9 dog to replace a retiring veteran animal. We value our ongoing partnership with the Hamilton Township Police Department.
Mays Landing, NJ (PRWEB) October 04, 2011
Hamilton Mall, a major New Jersey shopping center, today announced that they have recently reached out to their local police department in Hamilton Township to help finance the newest addition to the police force: Rex, a K-9 dog.
In Hamilton Mall’s continuous efforts to reach out to the community, the recent initiative with the local police department has been an invaluable experience. The funding of the new K-9 will allow the police department to replace Andy – the newly retired police dog that had been a member of the department for the past six years. Rex, the new K-9, will serve as the new partner of a 10-year veteran police officer, Christopher Robell.
“We are delighted to work with our local police department to fund the cost of a replacement K-9 dog to replace a retiring veteran animal. We value our ongoing partnership with the Hamilton Township Police Department. Trained bomb and drug dogs provide an invaluable service in making our community safer,” said Bill Schu, General Manager. Hamilton Mall.
To officially welcome the new police dog, a meet and greet was hosted at the Hamilton Mall with Bill Schu, Clinton Cochran, Captain Petusky and Christopher Robell, in addition to journalists and reporters from NBC 40, The Press of Atlantic City and The Current.
The plans for Rex will be to assist the police department with patrols and searches in April, and will then take on formal training for narcotics detection in the fall of 2012.
