Chuck Esmeier of Lincoln, Neb., soon will be doing some deep-sea fishing off the coast of Florida, thanks to his winning entry in the Inland Truck Parts “Great Adventure Getaway.”

The win came as a big surprise to Esmeier, who as shop manager of Husker Concrete works with the team at Inland’s Lincoln store on a regular basis. Husker Concrete supplies high-quality, ready-mixed concrete products to areas throughout southeastern Nebraska.

“I’m a 12-year customer of Inland Truck Parts in Lincoln. I’m in there once or twice a week buying parts, and they also do some service work for me when I’m really backed up. I usually work with Adam Crist or Tony Zigler — Tony was the one who told me about the giveaway and dropped off a flyer,” Esmeier said. “I told him I wasn’t going to enter because I never win anything, but fortunately, I changed my mind this time. What a surprise!”

As the grand prize winner, Esmeier selected the deep-sea fishing expedition from three all-expenses-paid, outdoor weekend adventures, including a pheasant hunt in South Dakota and a stock car racing trip in Kansas City. Esmeier’s trip package also includes three nights at the Ft. Lauderdale Bahia Mar Beach Resort.

Esmeier has never been deep-sea fishing, and he can’t wait to enjoy some time on the boat. “I don’t get to Florida very often, so I’m really looking forward to spending some time off with my wife, floating around on the boat,” he said.

In addition to the grand prize, each of Inland’s locations gave away an outdoors enjoyment package valued at more than $700, including a road trip grill, canopy, picnic table, chairs, grilling tools, a cooler and more. More than 1,675 of Inland’s customers entered the giveaway, which ran from June 15 to August 15, 2011.

“We really enjoyed this opportunity to reward some of our hard-working customers,” said Dave Scheer, president, Inland Truck Parts Company. “We’re honored that people like Chuck have relied on Inland for so many years for their truck parts and service needs — I hope he enjoys the fishing in Florida.”
