An out-of-this-world experience awaits young readers in author Bruce Courand Lane’s new picture book. Released through Xlibris, The Friendly Little Martian introduces to readers an unusual visitor that decides to take a trip around a local town.

It was an ordinary day, another beautiful day in the Orosi Valley when the sun is shining, the trees singing, and the pretty flowers smiling. It was peaceful and quiet when, all of sudden, a spaceship streaked through the bright blue sky, headed straight to the valley, and landed in a pretty meadow. A door opens, and out of the spaceship appears a little Martian with big antennas, and big green boots with red stripes and polka dots. He walks into town and waves happily at the people but nobody waves back. Will The Friendly Little Martian ever find a friend?

A delightful story filled with vivid illustrations, The Friendly Little Martian gives little ones a wonderful reading experience. This book will be featured at the New York Library Association Book Exhibit in Saratoga Springs, NY on November 2-5, 2011.
