LED displays increase revenue for used car dealerships.

Times are tough these days, especially for business owners. The Assistant General Manager from Leading Edge Displays, Curtis Cavazos, sat down with a couple of business owners who invested in a bright LED electronic message board to advertise and market their respective used car dealerships. Advertising is so very important these days, but like everything it costs money...a lot of money. For example, television and radio commercials can be extremely expensive and it's hard to judge whether or not these advertisements are reaching your target market. One solution to this debacle can be found through the concept of on-site marketing. On-site marketing is advertising at your place of business to communicate all the products and services to everyone that drives by. The SBA.gov states that, "85% of customers pass your business on an average of 10 times per month." These same customers are the target market that business owners are trying to get through their doors.

To get some better insight as to how on-site marketing can benefit a place of business, two owner's were interviewed. Both decided to invest in an LED electronic message board from Leading Edge Displays, an international company that manufactures LED displays all over the world. Arvah Rana, who owns Midnight Racing Auto just outside of Pittsburgh, recently had her LED display installed a couple of weeks ago. When asked if she saw any immediate results since the sign was first turned on, Rana speculated that once the sign was installed and running, she instantly had about 4 walk-in customers. Even her daughter's kindergarten teacher took notice, thinking that Rana's Midnight Racing was a brand new company even though they had been around for 4 years. Josh DeMaster, the internet manager for LoanStar Motors out of Houston, Texas, had his LED display installed about a year ago when he had about 60 cars on his lot. Since then Josh has nearly doubled the amount of cars in his inventory, citing about a 30% increase in sales directly correlated with the LED display. Josh stated that about 250,000 cars pass his place of business on a daily basis, so it was extremely important to him to have a bright, illuminated LED display showing things like, "Carfax Certified" as well as showcasing brilliant detailed images of all the high-end cars and trucks that LoanStar offers. DeMaster also liked the fact that Leading Edge Display's graphics department helped create the content that would appear on his LED display. Now Demaster says he has the "brightest sign on the road," and that people can see it "from a mile and half away." With the increase in revenue, LoanStar Motors is planning to expand and open different locations to adhere to its constant increase in sales and inventory. When asked if he plans to get an LED display for these new locations Demaster said, "As soon as we break ground I'm going to make sure we have the biggest and brightest LED display running so that by the time construction is finished, we'll already have established our presence to everyone that drives by." It's obvious that the concept of on-site marketing is working through the use of these LED displays.
