For sixty-two years Warren Miller has been filming extreme skiing and snowboarding around the world, producing one of the most famous legacies of discography in sports. His latest film, “Like There’s No Tomorrow,” is currently on tour, being shown in select cities around the world. FireWhat Inc., a Dunsmuir start-up that runs a one-stop shop for all firefighting resources, has succeeded in making Weed’s College of the Siskiyous one of those stops. Sam Lanier, CSO and co-founder of the new company, is also an avid skier, spending his winters on the slopes of Mt. Shasta Ski Resort as a patroller. Says Lanier, “This is a great opportunity for our community. I’m so excited FireWhat was able to put this event together and bring the Warren Miller World Tour here to northern California.”

The event will be held Wednesday, November 16 in the Kenneth W. Ford Theatre building on the COS campus. Showtime is 7:00, tickets are $15. Prizes will be raffled off throughout the event. Various local businesses will have displays showing this year’s latest and greatest outdoor equipment. For more information about the event, call the FireWhat staff at (530) 235-4419 or email info(at)firewhat(dot)com.
