Canadian web presence directory, LocalHood.ca has created an official business fan page under the URL nickname LocalWebPresence. As part of the page's introduction, LocalHood Marketing is allowing fans of its new page to download a free guide to Social Media Profits for local businesses.

The guide is 30 pages long and it discloses the top three social networking sites for local businesses to incorporate into their marketing. The guide includes a useful checklist that will help a business owner, or any local organization, map out their social networking strategy. A fan page is part of that strategic mix to grow a local web presence.

A fan page is the name of a Facebook page that is dedicated to businesses, organizations and celebrities. Facebook pages allow business owners to connect with fans with no limit to the number of followers they can attract. Through a business’s page, fans can connect with one another, as well as indicate to their friends that they’re a fan by clicking a “Like” button.

A description of Pages on the Facebook.com website reads; "Pages are for organizations, businesses, celebrities, and bands to broadcast great information in an official, public manner to people who choose to connect with them. Similar to profiles (timelines), Pages can be enhanced with applications that help the entity communicate and engage with their audiences, and capture new audiences virally through friend recommendations, News Feed stories, Facebook events, and beyond."

Facebook currently has more than 750 million active members worldwide and its number of members continues to grow every day. According to Compete.com, it is currently the second most popular website in the world in terms of unique visitors, and also according to ComScore.com, it’s the most popular social networking site overall. The most popular website in the world is Google.com.

In a news release on October 03, 2011, LocalHood Marketing announced that it was rolling out a bundled package of four digital services for local businesses. They call the new bundled service their Core4 Web Presence Bundle. The bundle includes four distinct marketing tools that a local business can implement to build out their local business web presence.

The other tools in the packaged bundle include a mobile web site, an optimized listing on the LocalHood.ca web site and a press release that features news about the local business with links back to their LocalHood.ca place page. Pricing information for the Core4 Web Presence Bundle has not been released.
