The U.S. government officially concludes its multi-year investigation into any improper connection between Market Traders Institute, ITradeFX, J.I.J Investments, JIJ Management, Jared F. Martinez, Jacob Martinez, Isaac Martinez and now convicted Ponzi scheme operator, David Smith.

It was confirmed that no charges will be filed against Market Traders Institute, I Trade FX, J.I.J Investments, JIJ Management, Jared F. Martinez, Jacob Martinez or Isaac Martinez for any wrong doing or any improper involvement with David Smith, and that no further investigation is necessary.

For over two years, the government's investigative team of attorneys and agents gathered volumes of records, documents and facts. Their lengthy investigation revealed that neither the Martinez' nor their businesses were connected with Smith's gigantic Ponzi scheme. David Smith's fraudulent scheme affected more than 6,000 people who collectively lost approximately $220 million.

Since the investigation began, cooperation with the U.S. government agents and attorneys was paramount to ensure that a very thorough investigation was conducted. "The personal expense was considerable, however, we felt that they more the government knew, the better off we would be. We wanted this matter to be over with and to be exonerated as quickly as possible." commented Jacob Martinez, President of MTI.

Although it was hoped that their full cooperation with the government would bring swift absolution, the investigation dragged on for over two years. The investigation was lengthy and ultimately, an innocent bystander to this investigation, the Martinez' brokerage firm, I Trade FX, was lost.
When asked what the most challenging part of the long two-year investigation was, Jacob Martinez replied, "It's difficult to be falsely accused of anything. And, it is unfortunate that we were perceived to be guilty by association. I am relieved to finally have closure to this matter. I now look forward to what the future holds for our business and my family."
