Our thinking is that if everyone can pitch in a little, help the business men and women on a day to day basis, then maybe that can help offset, on a small scale, some of the greater economic threats.

Biztree, the maker of Business-in-a-Box document templates software, is offering 10 free copies of Business-in-a-Box. Designed to help business people create documents and spreadsheets quickly and easily, Business-in-a-Box offers tremendous cost and time savings to cash-strapped entrepreneurs and medium-sized companies.

“There’s no denying it, the global economic mood is glum… there’s something in the air,” said Jonathan Defoy, President of Biztree, in a phone interview from the company’s head office in Montreal. “We came in this morning and had a brainstorm to figure out if we can do anything to help balance out the gloom.”

While Wall Street protesters may be marching for change in the right direction, it seems a Euro zone economic slowdown is starting to rear its head coupled with stagnation in Germany, Europe’s largest economy.

“You’ve got the crisis in Greece and financial volatility in Europe on one side, then you have England announcing today a new round of quantitative easing, plus Putin also announcing today plans to overhaul Russia’s economy, and closer to home you’ve got local businesses with strapped cashflows… I mean even India’s service sector is shrinking,” explained Defoy. Certainly, the latest blow to hit the tech and business sector, and humanity on a greater scale, is the loss of Steve Jobs who passed away yesterday at the age of 56 after a long battle with pancreatic cancer.

Biztree decided to offer 10 free copies of its flagship product Business-in-a-Box until the end of October. “Our thinking is that if everyone can pitch in a little, help the business men and women on a day to day basis, then maybe that can help offset, on a small scale, some of the greater economic threats.”
