For the second year in a row, Sydor Instruments has been named to INC 5000’s list of the nation’s fastest-growing private firms, ranked at number 1953. Located in Rochester, NY, Sydor Instruments’ growth contributes to Rochester’s recognition by Fortune Magazine as one of the Top 10 Cities for new job creation.
“We’re honored to be recognized again this year. Increasing demand for custom diagnostics and streak cameras, and emerging applications in research for Security and Defense and Energy has helped Sydor Instruments to achieve strong growth. It’s an exciting time for our company. Our custom image acquisition systems are helping to bring about some real breakthroughs, improving testing for applications from ballistics to molecular imaging to LIDAR,” states Michael Pavia, President of Sydor Instruments.
Sydor Instruments' first product, the ROSS (Rochester Optical Streak System) streak camera began as a technology transfer partnership with the Laboratory for Laser Energetics at the University of Rochester. Today, Sydor Instruments builds on the ROSS product family with custom diagnostics systems, single photon counting cameras, image intensifiers, photomultipliers, ballistics imaging systems and detectors for aerospace, energy, and life sciences.
“We build imaging systems for customers who need to capture and analyze the data from a high-speed event—we help them find the needle in the haystack. We’ll continue to develop faster, more accurate diagnostics to meet our customers’ emerging needs,” explains Pavia.
