Plastic surgery procedures have gained so much popularity among teens that according to an estimate by American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), more than 218,000 cosmetic procedures, both minimally-invasive as well as surgically, were performed on children ages 13-19 in 2010. This is a hug increase from 1996 when the estimate of teen cosmetic procedures was approximately 14,000. While talking about cosmetic procedures for teens, Michael W. Though, cosmetic surgery procedures are surely a solution for the bullied teens every case is different. Dr. Michael Niccole strongly suggests that before undergoing any cosmetic surgery procedures, a good physician should always make sure that the child is comfortable and ready for their results and the understand the effects it will have on their life. Dr. Niccole and Dr. Pearlman stressed on the importance of discussing the risks and benefits of cosmetic procedures with the teens and with the adult accompanying them.
