Clearasil targets young adult consumer set through unique digital programming with scholarship incentive

Clearasil®, a leading brand of skin care products, launches a groundbreaking Facebook endeavor – a brand ambassador search to find three “Clearasil All Access Agents.” The search operates as a Facebook contest conducted via the brand page It is geared toward consumers in the young adult demographic who are influencers and trend setters among their peer group. “This campaign is about giving our consumers access to our brand and products from the inside and our brand getting access to our consumers’ interests, peer groups and social media communities,” explains Kevin Harshaw, Marketing Director of Personal Care at Clearasil parent company Reckitt Benckiser.

Clearasil will choose winners based on a submission form that asks questions about consumers’ interests and what type of a role social media plays in their lives. Once selected, the All Access Agents will have unique opportunities to sample new product launches before they’re on shelf, attend exclusive events on behalf of the brand, and share their experiences over the next year through weekly posts and updates on Clearasil digital platforms, including Facebook and YouTube. As an added incentive, the brand is awarding $5,000, which they hope will be impactful in the 18-24 year old set the campaign is designed to reach.

“We understand the power of peer to peer influence within our target demographic, and that is where the strength of this campaign lies,” says Harshaw. “No one wants to hear a brand talk at them anymore. All Access Agents is an opportunity to bridge the common interests of our target consumer and our brand and to populate our mutual social media spaces with accessible, interesting content informed by the very people who use our products.”
