Dr. Candy Lamas Focuses on Women’s Wellness

I want to help women take care of themselves, most take care of other family members at some point in their lives and keeping women focused on their own health is a priority!

Winchester Family Health Center (WFHC), located on Amherst Street in Winchester, Virginia, is expanding their practice by welcoming Dr. Candy Lamas, a bi-lingual physician who focuses on women’s wellness. WFHC provides a diverse staff to treat patients of all ages. Dr. Lamas complements their family focus by connecting directly with women and families. Dr. Lamas is currently accepting new patients and appointments for well women annual exams and well child visits.

Dr. Lamas joins the diverse team at WFHC this fall after recently completing her Family Residency at Huntsville Hospital, at University of Alabama at Birmingham, Huntsville Campus. She previously spent time in Peru, at the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos School of Medicine in Lima, Peru, completing her first year of residency at Hospital 2 de Mayo, San Marcos Medical School in Lima, Peru. Dr. Lamas holds certification in Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics. She is a member of the following: American Academy of Family Physicians, Medical Association of the State of Alabama, Madison County Medical Society and Peruvian Medical Society.

Winchester Family Health Center (WFHC), a community health center located in Winchester, Virginia, is part of the Shenandoah Valley Medical System (SVMS) network. Focusing on providing quality healthcare, WFHC has an experienced staff to treat patients of all ages. There is an on-site lab to assist the physicians with comprehensive diagnosis and timely results for their patients. WFHC accepts private insurance, Medicare and Medicaid. Discounts are available for uninsured patients. Since 2004, WFHC has been meeting the needs of the community with their original location on Peyton Street.
