Location, money and convenience are all popular reasons for parents to send their students to an online school. A new OnlineSchools.com infographic gives an additional 50 fun yet spooky reasons to take to the computer for their student’s education.

“For each of the fearful reasons to stay inside and enroll online there are plenty of good reasons too,” said Restaino. “Whatever the reasoning, online education gives individuals the flexibility to excel and earn their degree at their own pace.”

OnlineSchools.com, a digital resource for online education from kindergarten to graduate school, released a new infographic depicting 50 haunting facts that could be enough to convince someone to choose the road to online education. Just in time for Halloween, the infographic reveals a dangerous fact about each of the 50 states in the U.S. From Louisiana’s abundance of mosquitoes to Wisconsin’s plethora of drunk drivers, the infographic suggests several reasons why 5.6 million people may have chosen to stay indoors and were enrolled in at least one online course in the fall of 2009.

“More and more parents are enrolling their students in online schools,” said Seth Restaino, OnlineSchools.com spokesperson. “While many choose to do so because of scary situations in the classroom such as bullying, in the spirit of Halloween, we picked out some additional terrifying reasons to make the switch to the digital classroom.”

While many of the facts may not directly affect getting an education, Alaska’s excessive amount of wolverines and South Carolina’s Lake Murray Monster and the Boggy Creek Monster in Arkansas could be just enough to stay home as often as possible.

“For each of the fearful reasons to stay inside and enroll online there are plenty of good reasons too,” said Restaino. “Whatever the reasoning, online education gives individuals the flexibility to excel and earn their degree at their own pace.”
