New service provider solution speeds up routing of Web videos, text, and applications through Cedexis Openmix performance optimization and Juniper Networks Media Flow Controller integration

Cedexis, the leader in community-based cloud performance monitoring and optimization, today announced completion of interoperability testing with Juniper Networks and delivery of a new solution targeting service providers. The Juniper-Cedexis CDN Solution for Service Providers accelerates Web content performance by monitoring over 500 million real Web user performance metrics and acting on optimal routes. By avoiding slow spots and routing around outages, the solution advances a company’s ability to ensure a responsive and rich Web experience, no matter where end users reside around the world.

Cedexis also announced today it is the first cloud performance subscription service to support the emerging Application Layer Traffic Optimization (ALTO) Internet standard. Cedexis support of ALTO eases customer interoperability with cloud-driven data feeds, enabling service providers and companies to act on a variety of customized data from multiple sources.

“By expanding its partner ecosystem, Juniper combines the infrastructure scale of Juniper Networks® Media Flow, the next generation content delivery software system, and the agile cloud approach of Cedexis to offer service providers an immediate opportunity to add content delivery services to their portfolio, whether through CDN partnerships or their own infrastructure,” said Rajan Maghavan, vice president and general manager, Content and Media Business Unit, Juniper Networks.

Cedexis is now a partner in the Juniper Networks Technology Alliance Program, and the new solution ties together Juniper Networks Media Flow Controller hardware and software technologies with the Cedexis patent-pending Openmix™ performance optimization service. Customers already using Juniper Networks Media Flow Solution simply add a Cedexis cloud service subscription to initiate the intelligent, automated content routing decision-making.

Service provider (SP) customers can especially benefit from the joint solution’s rapid time to deployment, thanks in part to the Cedexis cloud-delivered model. The real-time performance optimization helps differentiate the SP’s quality-of-service, while the solution’s broadly supported range of standards and protocols enables providers to act on performance gains across both federated content partners and hybrid cloud IT environments.

“As more ISPs and carriers consider adding content delivery partners or services, our joint solution clearly and objectively shows the best routes, which helps the entire ecosystem improve performance,” said Marty Kagan, President and Co-founder of Cedexis.

More than 150 companies already benefit from Cedexis cloud routing services, including globally recognized brands across the retail, luxury goods, and media/entertainment industries. Cedexis Internet performance data is freely available to the community for the prior 24 hour time interval, making transparent the performance metrics of any private or public cloud providers such as Amazon, EC2 and Microsoft, Azure, as well as leading CDNs such as Akamai, and Limelight. Real-time performance data is part of the Cedexis paid solution subscription, including metrics by time intervals, load, cost, provider name, geographic location, and many other criteria.
