"We have already created over 100 new jobs in the last 3 months, and are actively pursuing to hire hundreds more,” says Anthony Delmedico, CEO of Abelard Construction. “We are in the process of immediately hiring at our new office near Bucktown".

Abelard Construction, a local, Illinois licensed general contractor and roofing company since 2003, was in the process of restructuring it's Lincolnwood office a few months ago when disaster struck. On June 30th, 2011, a catastrophic wind storm, with golf ball sized hail struck the Chicagoland area affecting over 250,000 properties. Abelard quickly seized the moment and opened a new office near Bucktown, at 2041 West Grand Avenue. Immediately, Abelard opened hundreds of positions, such as; salespeople, inspectors, estimators, project managers, and other key office staff to service the property owners in this twenty-five mile by three mile storm path.

You would be surprised at how many property owners are still unaware of hail damage to their roof and the insurance claim process.”

Natural disaster claims, also referred to as "act of god claims" such as hail, wind, and other similar causes are usually non-chargeable claims. This meaning the insurance company does not raise rates or drop any of their customers for filing this type of claim. Typically property owners have one year from date of loss to get their roofs inspected and file an insurance claim. It is very important to do this before the coming winter months.

Almost all roof manufacturer and installer warranties are void after hailstorms of this magnitude, hence the importance of getting your roof inspected and filing a claim if any hail damage is found.

Abelard Construction offers a free 10 point roof and property inspection, and even provides photos of the storm damage for property owners to present to their insurance company. Abelard staff meets the insurance adjuster at the property to review storm damage as well as perform and coordinate all necessary repairs and bill the insurance company for the work.
