Tax Deferred Solutions (TDS), California's largest third-party administrator of public school employee voluntary retirement plans, has launched and educational campaign to promote the benefits of retirement planning for National Save For Retirement Week. In cooperation with its public school district clientele, TDS' campaign explains the advantage of starting early and making consistent contributions to a voluntary retirement account as well as providing smart budgeting tips on how public school employees can find the money to invest today for a more secure future tomorrow.

Tax Deferred Solutions (TDS) has launched an education campaign for public school employees to further the goals of National Save for Retirement Week, October 16-22, 2011. Now in its sixth year, this weeklong event has been established by the U.S. Congress to promote retirement savings and encourage employees to save in their employer-sponsored plans.

National Save For Retirement Week was created to address the unfortunate reality that many workers may not be prepared for retirement. Statistics show that more than half of all Americans report less than $25,000 in total savings and investments. Even more startling is that approximately 40 percent of workers between the ages of 45-54 report the same.

“National Save for Retirement Week brings awareness to all workers about the importance of saving now for a secure future tomorrow,” said Lisa Brumfield, CEO of TDS. “We encourage public school employers and state governments across the nation to get involved in this worthwhile effort by launching education campaigns for their employees.”

TDS participates in National Save for Retirement Week by providing public school employers and city and county municipalities with materials and assistance in planning events and activities during the week that allow them to reach out to their employees about the importance of saving.

“With inflation and health care costs steadily rising, employer-sponsored retirement savings plans have become increasingly important,” said Lisa Brumfield, “But planning can be confusing, which is why we’re excited about participating in this education opportunity.”
