Evolv has a unique approach to recruiting – an industry where instincts, anecdotes and opinions have traditionally driven hiring decisions.
San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) October 11, 2011
Evolv, the leading provider of data-driven workforce selection, today announced it has hired former Oracle executive Dennis Yen as its new VP of Engineering. Yen is responsible for overall product development for Evolv, and will oversee an international team responsible for driving improvements to Evolv’s cloud-based hiring intelligence platform.
“We are excited to be bringing an engineering executive of Dennis’ caliber on-board as we continue to build out Evolv’s unique enterprise grade analytics platform,” said Max Simkoff, Evolv CEO. “Dennis brings a wealth of experience in predictive analytics, and he will be instrumental in advancing the technology we use to help employers identify the best talent from their applicant pool.”
Prior to joining Evolv, Yen was senior director at Oracle, overseeing product development for a multi-dimension analytics product set. Before Oracle, he co-founded Interlace Systems (acquired by Oracle), a company which enabled large corporations to perform predictive “what-if” analyses on large datasets to understand the business impact of key operational decisions. Yen was also an early employee at Hyperion Solutions, where he was director of product development responsible for an OLAP platform product. He received an MS in Electrical Engineering from Pennsylvania State University, and has a BS in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Chengkung University in Taiwan.
“Evolv has a unique approach to recruiting – an industry where instincts, anecdotes and opinions have traditionally driven hiring decisions,” said Yen. “The Evolv solution leverages the precision and understanding inherent in predictive analytics to drive exceptional workforce outcomes. I look forward to helping the company build out its enterprise solution in order to produce better hires, therefore increasing productivity and customer satisfaction for Evolv clients.”
Yen will oversee a team of two dozen engineers working out of Evolv’s newly opened Mountain View office, as well as its locations in San Francisco and India.
