Ruby Makeup Academy Halloween Makeup Competition

Character and special effects makeup is a lot of fun. It gives our students a chance to really go wild with their imaginations.

The Ruby Makeup Academy is well known for its classes in fashion, beauty, special occasion and bridal makeup. It also offers accredited training in character and special effects makeup. The character program is a Ruby student favorite that has turned out some incredible industry talent. The academy is very proud of the accomplishments of all its students and whenever an occasion presents itself to showcase their very special skills, the Ruby Makeup Academy is vigilant in making it happen. This Halloween the Ruby Makeup Academy is giving current students and graduates an opportunity to demonstrate their abilities against all special effects and character makeup artists who think they have the moxie to stand up to the “spooktacular” competition. Contestants must submit their photos and contact information to ruby(at)rubymakeupacademy(dot)com by October 23, 2011. The top ten finalists will be posted on the Ruby Makeup Academy Facebook fan page at http://www.facebook.com/rubymakeupacademy for voting. There will be six winners total; two first places, two second place and two third places, all announced on November 1, 2011. The grand prize is free tuition for the Pro Beauty, Character or Special Effects makeup course.

From the inception of the Ruby Makeup Academy, president Ruby Polanco has always expanded on the curriculum offered at its schools. “Our facilities are located right outside the capitol of the entertainment industry,” she says. “We want our students to be able to take full advantage of all genres of makeup where they can build long lasting careers.” She continues, “Besides, character and special effects makeup is a lot of fun. It gives our students a chance to really go wild with their imaginations.”
