Technical information today is continually changing and as a dedicated industry partner Gates is committed to providing the latest problem solving information to the professional technician.

Gates Corporation, a leading manufacturer of industrial and automotive products, will host four short-format training sessions for automotive service providers and professional technicians at the Automotive Aftermarket Product Expo (AAPEX) in the Sands Expo Center, Las Vegas, NV, November 1-3, 2011. Training sessions will be held in the Gates AAPEX Booth # 4407 the morning of Thursday, November 3 and will be dedicated to providing the most up-to-date technical and diagnostic information on cooling systems, fuel line hose, drive belt and timing systems.

Training sessions will be 15-20 minutes in length and begin at 9:00 a.m. Each topic will be followed by interactive Q&A sessions allowing attendees to ask product related questions directly to the manufacturer.

  •     9:00-9:30 a.m. – “Understanding Water Pump Failure”

The water pump is the heart of today’s cooling system. Understanding failures associated with this component will help reduce warranty claims and customer comebacks that rob time and profits.

  •     9:30-10:00 a.m. – “Installing the Correct Fuel Line Hose”

Today there are more than 40 different EPA-approved fuel blends used in the U.S. Many are aggressive and have negative effects on fuel systems. Learn how to choose the correct fuel hose for various applications.

  •     10:00-10:30 a.m. – “Understanding Loss of Tension in the Accessory Belt Drive System”

Belt drive tension loss impacts all components in the accessory drive system. Learn how to avoid false codes, belt misdiagnosis, customer comebacks and profit loss.

  •     10:30-11:00 a.m. – “The Benefits of Timing System Replacement”

Belts, tensioners and idler pulleys all work together to keep the timing system working properly. Learn tips to increase sales of timing component kits and reduce up to 70% of labor claims associated with this system.
