When there is a major emergency such as a fire or natural disaster, lives can depend on the ability of first responders to access the scene as quickly as possible. Because our technology can help, we're particularly proud to offer this solution.

Beat the Traffic®, a leading provider of real-time traffic information for broadcast media and mobile devices, announced today it will be participating in the 18th Annual World Congress on Intelligent Transport Systems held on October 16-20, 2011 in Orlando, Florida. Beat the Traffic CEO Andre Gueziec will be a featured speaker at the event while the company will be exhibiting its latest web presentation solutions and 3D traffic technology for command and control centers.

Gueziec will present the findings of Beat the Traffic’s crowdsourced traffic data while speaking on “Next Generation Travel Information,” an ITS session to be held on Wednesday, October 19th. As a leading provider of mobile traffic information for consumers – its mobile apps were downloaded more than 1.5 million times to date – Beat the Traffic collects and shares real-time traffic data from many sources, including hundreds of thousands of motorists who use the company’s apps to report traffic incidents from the road. Gueziec will share the company’s findings from this data, as well its findings from developing and supporting both mobile- and Internet-based solutions and how they are being used.

Sponsored by The Intelligent Transportation Society of America along with ERTICO-ITS Europe and ITS Asia-Pacific, the ITS World Congress features the world's leading thinkers and innovators on transportation policy and technology. The event is being held in conjunction ITS America's Annual Meeting & Exposition.

“So much is happening very quickly in the world of transportation and technology, which makes the ITS World Congress such a vital industry event,” said Gueziec. “It’s the perfect place to share what we’ve learned as well as to discover what others are doing. We’re very delighted to be involved.”

In the exhibit hall, Beat the Traffic will showcase its new web presentation solution, an in-depth travel planning tool that provides real-time traffic conditions along high-traveled transportation corridors, enabling users can plan safe and efficient travel. The tool allows users to create personalized trips and then delivers real-time traffic data along those routes, such as lane closures, construction work, traffic speeds and travel times. Users can also use the tool to create alerts that will tell them, for example, how long it will take to get to work in the morning. Travel times can be delivered automatically by email or text—before the user ever leaves home.

Beat the Traffic will also demonstrate its 3D traffic technology specially designed for command and control centers. Leveraging the same 3D technology delivered to Beat the Traffic’s TV and cable station partners, this unique solution enables local agencies to respond more quickly to emergencies and other major events by providing up-to-the-minute traffic data via Beat the Traffic’s detailed, 3D traffic maps.

“It’s not just the average citizen who is affected by traffic,” says Gueziec. “When there is a major emergency such as a fire or natural disaster, or even a large-scale public event such as a parade or demonstration, lives can depend on the ability of first responders to access the scene as quickly as possible. Because our technology can help, we’re particularly proud to offer this solution.”

In the exhibit hall, Beat the Traffic’s solutions will be on display in Booth #1309.
