Startup publisher Nimblewords Books is giving away the chance to win a house. The giveaway is to celebrate the launch of Nimblewords’ first publication, a light fantasy novel called The Mage’s Servant.

“Entry is completely free,” says founder Brian Dillon-Phillips. “You don’t have to buy the book or anything.”

What’s the catch? Well, you have to answer a simple math question – and get it right. There’s a limit of 100,000 entrants. Also, for the house to be given away, the book has to sell very well.

Brian says that it should do so. “The book is great! The feedback we’ve had from our pre-release readers has been uniformly very positive. It’s written for younger readers and all those who still believe in magic. Like the first of the Harry Potter series. A perfect gift for Christmas.”

He continues, “The challenge we’re facing is that we’re new. Nobody knows that we exist, and that makes it hard to sell books. We’re hoping that the publicity around the giveaway will change all that.”

Even if the sales target isn’t met, there will still be a prize. It just won’t be as grand as a house.

The giveaway is open to entrants from much of the English-speaking world. Further details and conditions can be found on both the publisher’s main website and the book-specific site.
