This is an excellent time to introduce our clients to this opportunity to give to others in need
Ashburn, VA (PRWEB) October 18, 2011
At a time when charitable organizations are competing for fewer funds, Posh Couture has launched Posh Charities, the donations arm of the online boutique. Posh Charities promotes giving by providing online shoppers an opportunity to contribute to non-profit organizations. Jewell Green, President of Posh Couture and the wife of former Washington Redskin Darrell Green, says that this philanthropic effort is another feature that helps to distinguish the online boutique.
Each month Posh Couture will highlight on its web site a different charity chosen by Green. As this is National Breast Cancer Awareness month, the charity for October is the Tiger Lily Foundation based in Reston, VA, which provides services for young women who have been diagnosed with breast cancer. Green says, “I’ve personally been involved with the Tiger Lily Foundation for several years and I know how dedicated they are to supporting and improving the quality of life to young adult women who are undergoing treatment for this horrible disease. It’s just the right group for us to ask our shoppers to support.”
Visitors to shopposhboutique.com or its related blog, poshsblackbook.com, can click a link and indicate the amount that they would like to contribute to the featured charity, ranging from $5 to $20 initially, says Green. “We have very little overhead so more of the money that we collect will go directly to the charities,” she says. “It’s really is a no-brainer since the number of people shopping online is only increasing. Plus, with the upcoming holiday season, we feel that this is an excellent time to introduce our clients to this opportunity to give to others in need.” Posh Couture will also make a donation to the featured charities.
With an active marketing presence on both Facebook and Twitter, the Posh Couture web site has over 3,500 members and is visited by people in over 112 countries.
“The women who network with us socially or attend our shopping parties, actually begin to connect with and support each other, which is part of what I wanted to accomplish in building the Posh experience,” Green says. “Posh Charities is an extension of this and a perfect fit for our business.”
