Each year, the Japanese Friendship Garden of Phoenix offers guests a chance to enjoy a Japanese celebration that centers around a full moon and the fall harvest. This year, Otsukimi Moonviewing 2011 will be held from 5 p.m. – 9 p.m. The annual fundraiser will serve up food prepared by the Tohzan Nagasaki Grill and Fujiya Market and include music by Fushicho Daiko Taiko Drummers. Swordsmanship demonstrations by Arizona Aikido and Kenshin Dojo of Laido Swordsmanship, poetry readings and Japanese Ondo Folk Dancing will also be able featured at the festival. Additionally, guests will be able to look through a telescope at the moon, feed koi fish and even attempt to write a haiku poem. Admission to the fundraiser is $25 for adults and $12 for children age 4 to 10.
