Ecopartytime.com is coordinating the 2nd Annual Green Halloween Festival to encourage kids and their families to replace conventional candy and costumes with healthy treats and eco-friendly costumes.

If your kids trick or treat, they probably bring home gobs upon gobs of candy filled with processed sugar, high fructose corn syrup, and numerous chemicals - not to mention the wasteful packaging that will end up in landfills. With childhood obesity on the rise, isn’t it time to try something new? For the second year in a row, Green Halloween® is coming to the Greater Philadelphia area to raise awareness about healthy and eco-friendly alternatives that young kids will love.

The 2nd Annual Green Halloween festival will be held on October 22nd at Montgomery Mall on Rt. 309 in North Wales, PA. The festival will feature a fun-filled variety of Spooktacular events. Milestones in Music, LLC, the Delaware Valley’s premier provider of early childhood music education, will put on a performance that is not to be missed. There will also be Poster Exhibition in which the best poster creation will receive a $25 cash prize and an appreciation certificate. Children are encouraged to come in costumes and trick-or-treat at the event. Sweets and treats are generously donated by: Surf Sweets, Revolution Foods, Stretch Island Fruit Co, Larabar, Nature’s Path, Plum Organics and Ecopartytime.com.

“We’re thrilled to coordinate the second annual Green Halloween Festival and hope to continue working with our community, including families and other local businesses and non-profits, to make Halloween a healthier holiday that everyone can enjoy.” said Monica Garg Singhal, a local mom and founder of ecopartytime.com.

GreenHalloween.org suggests a variety of ways parents can go green this Halloween: participate in a costume swap, hand out treasures (pencils, feathers, anything little kids will love!), and give treats that are healthier, such as organic lollipops, fruit snacks, or natural gum.
