It’s important to our featured designers for us to showcase the designer accessories in the best possible way and to show the customers how the pieces were designed to be worn.

Boutique Accessories has once again been voted a finalist in the category of Innovation.

Last month saw Boutique Accessories become a finalist in two categories at the Online Retail Awards 2011, one category being Most Innovative Online Retailer and the other, Best New Online Retailer.

This month, Boutique Accessories has once again been announced a finalist for the category ‘Innovation’ at the Australian Web Awards 2011.

The feature on the site which is attracting attention from the Industry is the Virtual Mirror, an application which allows customers to virtually ‘try on’ jewellery using their webcam. It is the first of its kind in Australia and a leading global example of the use of this technology.

Using the video image from the customer’s webcam, the technology automatically places the earrings, necklaces or bracelets on the customer so it appears as if they are wearing them. This is the first time that online shoppers can view a product in context, rather than as a flat two dimensional image.

The site is not only focused on innovation however. The customer needs are put at the heart of any decision and customer service and experience are of paramount importance during any newly developed feature or communication. This is reflected in the full customer experience from arriving on the site to receiving the beautiful, gift-wrapped purchase by express post.

Boutique Accessories founder Claire Anstee said, “We are pre-occupied with providing the best online experience for our customers. If they are unable to get to the shops, or prefer to shop online for convenience, we want to make the experience as seamless and as close to real shopping as possible."

There are two sides to any retail business, and Boutique Accessories has concentrated on developing features that will please not only the customers, but the designers as well. “It’s important to our featured designers for us to showcase the designer accessories in the best possible way and to show the customers how the pieces were designed to be worn,” said Anstee.

The site, which can be found at http://www.boutiqueaccessories.com.au, successfully creates a high-end boutique online, innovating along the way. For those very reasons, it has become a firm favourite among its customers and online industry experts.
