Ashburn, VA (PRWEB) October 13, 2011
Intelligent Decisions (ID), Inc., a premier global IT systems integrator, announced today that it has achieved the exclusive Software Engineering Institute’s (SEI) Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) Level 3 certification. Sponsored by the U.S. Department of Defense, the SEI is a federally funded research and development center operated by Carnegie Mellon University that helps organizations make measured improvements in their software engineering capabilities and to develop the right software, delivered defect free, on time, and within budget. Without question, earning CMMI Level 3 certification represents a major milestone in ID’s commitment to providing top quality products and services to clients.
The company’s DLA Plus Professional Services Organization earned the CMMI Level 3 rating through an exhaustive process, which was achieved in one year while the industry average time to achieve this certification is 18 to 24 months. The independent evaluation involved the analysis and review of company software development capability, its processes and its products. Specifically, CMMI is an in-depth development methodology that provides comprehensive processes and procedures for all aspects of hardware, software, and systems engineering development.
ID’s DLA Plus Professional Services Organization provides innovative and cutting-edge IT solutions to the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA), in the most efficient and cost-effective manner. Since 1994, the company’s DLA Plus Professional Services Organization has been servicing DLA through contracts and other programs as either a prime or subcontractor.
“Intelligent Decisions is proud to have achieved the widely-respected CMMI certification that is synonymous with top quality IT products and services in our industry,” said Harry Martin, president and CEO of Intelligent Decisions. “This is the first step in a long-term strategy to expand the proven practices and processes associated with the certification throughout the entire framework of our company.”
As part of achieving the CMMI Level 3 rating, ID has established a systematic, program management foundation to institutionalize and cross pollinate to new and existing development and services projects, as well as internal supporting processes in ID’s Professional Services Division.
SEI ratings are comprised of five maturity levels and are earned through an exhaustive independent evaluation involving analysis and review of a company's software development capability, its processes and its products.
