The IAGT Committee, which is the acronym for the Industrial Application of Gas Turbines, gathers every two years to provide a global forum that encourages the exchange of ideas by turbine engineering professionals, as well as updates on new developments from companies involved in the industrial application of gas turbines.

Over the past two decades, gas turbine operators have been under increasing pressure to comply with emission control regulations prompted by governments and global organizations, where DLN combustors have become the preferred solution for maintaining emission levels.

As the international community transitions into a Green Economy driven by sustainable engineering practices, concern for environmental optimization is prompting governments throughout the world to require gas turbine users to reduce NOx emissions from their units.

Given TTS' extensive experience with GE DLN combustors, its engineering staff has a strong understanding of emission abatement systems for turbines, including the installation of software and hardware required for "wet" and "dry" system conversion projects.

Holding nine patents on DLN combustion systems and emissions control processes for diesel engines, Cohen is regarded as an authority in this topic, having worked on the conceptual development, design, and commissioning of both the first DLN-2 and DLN-2.6 combustion systems in GE's 7FA fleet.

TTS' Mitch Cohen is scheduled to speak at the IAGT Symposium on Wednesday, October 19, 2011 from 3:15 pm to 3:45 pm at the Alberta Room of the Banff Springs Hotel, addressing turbomachinery professionals seeking to learn about latest advances in turbine engineering technology.

Mitch Cohen has 23 years of experience in the design and operation of low emissions combustion systems for gas turbines and diesel engines and at TTS, he oversees all engineering and field service in the areas of Dry Low NOx and standard combustion, emissions control, alternative fuels utilization, and gas turbine performance.
