In the Gospel of John, Chapters 15-16, it is written “It is not that you have chosen me; but it is I who have chosen you. I have appointed you to go and bear fruit that will be lasting.” In his new nonfiction book “Why Be Fundamental” (published by AuthorHouse), author Kevin S. Holland encourages readers to embrace the fundamental truths of Christianity and discard the distorted beliefs he finds endemic in modern Christianity.
“Why Be Fundamental” explores many of the common areas of uncertainty many Christians, including the Baptists Holland hopes will be his main audience, struggle with. “How many are there within the shadow of the church,” Holland asks, “who have not even heard of our Wonderful Lord and Savior?”
Another purpose of the book is to reveal the fullness of the gospel and the benefits that a child of God has. “Every child of God is secure,” the author says. “They are firmly fixed and cannot be cast out of Christ.”
Holland even examines the not-so-pleasant consequences of rejecting Jesus Christ as savior. He believes the subject is often ignored or brushed over, and fears the results of this dismissal.
“I have many, especially in my home church,” Holland writes, “that have asked me questions about Bible teachings they had problems with and found to their amazement that what they asked was answered in the Bible and they are searching for the truth for what they have been taught.”
