Relational Database Consultants Inc. (RDC), http://www.relationalwizards.com, announced that it has released version 8.2 of the Standby Wizard for Oracle, now compatible with Oracle's 11g Release 2 database. The Standby Wizard is a GUI-based intelligent disaster/recovery tool that automates the creation, maintenance and fail-over functions of Oracle’s standby database paradigm.
Since 2001, the Standby Wizard for Oracle has offered a high-availability graphical alternative to Oracle’s Data Guard Technology and Asolutions’ Dbvist.
“The Standby Wizard is the only tool that can actually build standby databases from scratch. Other vendors require customers to use RMAN,” explains RDC marketing director Don Parret. “Users want a graphical high-availability solution that both creates and synchronizes standby databases on Windows, Unix or Linux servers.”
The latest version of the Standby Wizard for Oracle can build, diagnose, and activate any standby database needed in a disaster/recover scenario from a remote location – thus insuring continuity in case of a database failure. Compatible with both Standard and Enterprise editions of Oracle, free 30-day evaluations of the Standby Wizard are now available for download at:
