An overwhelming amount of my patients choose silicone breast implants for their procedure.
New York, NY (PRWEB) October 18, 2011
The Food and Drug Administration has recently conducted a study on silicone breast implants. While all surgical procedures carry a slight risk of complications, the FDA has again concluded that silicone breast implants are safe. Breast augmentation patients may choose between silicone or saline breast implants based on personal preferences rather than health concerns.
In 1992, silicone breast implants were banned from use in the United States. Since their FDA approval in 2006, silicone breast implants have been the preferred choice amongst breast augmentation patients. This follow-up study reaffirms that silicone breast implants are safe.
Many women prefer silicone breast implants, as they provide the breasts with a more natural look and feel than saline implants. Regardless of implant type, breast augmentation patients enjoy long-lasting results. Thinner women especially benefit from silicone breast implants, as their natural breast tissue may not effectively cover the edges of saline implants.
Dr. Michael Fiorillo, a plastic surgeon in New York, has noticed the increasing popularity of silicone breast implants. “An overwhelming amount of my patients choose silicone breast implants for their procedure,” said Dr. Fiorillo. “Patients love the natural look and feel of silicone implants.”
The best implant type and size for each patient depends on her individual goals and body type. Breast augmentation surgery should only be performed by a qualified plastic surgeon such as Dr. Fiorillo.
