Wonderlic, the premier pre-employment assessment company, is pleased to announce the winner of the LPQualified (LPQ) scholarship sponsored by the company in partnership with the Loss Prevention Foundation. Albert DiLorenzo, Regional Loss Prevention Manager for the Coast Guard’s Community Services Command, was awarded the scholarship at the Loss Prevention Foundation’s Day of Learning.
The scholarship will provide DiLorenzo with an LPQ certification, which is offered through the Loss Prevention Foundation and is designed to provide a benchmark education for loss prevention managers, supervisors, store managers, college students, select hourly employees, and anyone interested in the career field. The LPQ was created with input from more than 170 loss prevention professionals from more than 75 of today’s leading retail companies.
DiLorenzo shares, “I was one of six winners of scholarships donated by various companies including Wonderlic. I wanted to say thanks to the Loss Prevention Foundation (LPF) for this opportunity for continuing my education.” Gene Smith, President of LPF Foundation comments, “I cannot think of a more admirable way for solution providers like Wonderlic to give back to an industry they serve than through scholarship.”
With pre-employment assessments that help measure cognitive ability, job-specific personality traits and employee integrity, Wonderlic is natural fit with retailers and the Loss Prevention Foundation. Beyond the LPQ scholarships, Wonderlic has supported the Loss Prevention Foundation in several ways. Gene Smith states, “Wonderlic has co-sponsored our Advance the Professional Speaker series, and their Chief Counsel, Dr. David Arnold, has provided invaluable feedback as a member of our item writing and exam committees for the development of the LPCertified (LPC) certification. The LPC is a critical advanced certification for loss prevention management and executives looking to further their careers in the loss prevention field.”
Both the LPQualified (LPQ) and LPCertified (LPC) help to provide continuing higher education for Loss Prevention professionals. Both certifications qualify toward credit hours at both Fairleigh Dickinson University and Eastern Kentucky University. Gene Smith adds, “The Loss Prevention Foundation is dedicated to providing those interested in a Loss Prevention career with the tools and resources to advance in their profession.”
Wonderlic, Inc. is a privately held company headquartered in Vernon Hills, Illinois, and a founding member of the Association of Test Publishers.
