An estimated 5 to 7 million Americans have been involved in cults, or cult-like groups, as reported by cultclinic.org. Furthermore it is stated that of the numbers of people who get involved, more people leave than stay. Author Sherrill Perry was one of those who made a stand to leave. In her engaging book, Our Life Force and the Sacred, she boldly shares to readers her journey from being a confused cult member to becoming a fulfilled Christian.
“As a Christian I felt that my spiritual rebirth came about through Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ, in my belief, is God, not just an enlightened human,” Perry reveals.
In her own search of the spiritual dimension, Perry walked down many roads. She was born into a mainline cult, which appears as Christian to those misinformed. It was when she reached fourteen years of age that she found a loving savior in the Catholic Church. Her path to a more edifying life continued as she married a Christian. But along the way, she faced countless trials and temptations that might have shaken her faith foundation. This account unveils her most troubled moments that led her to a rewarding conclusion. Here, she conveys that focusing on the light and having strong faith in God will make things clearer and life more meaningful.
Regardless of faith—Catholic, Buddhist, Born-Again Christian, or New Age— Our Life Force and the Sacred is a poignantly crafted inspirational book equipped with in-depth discussion on the essence of finding the basic reason in living a fruitful life.
