Summit Series for Families (http://www.summitseriesforfamilies.com), the host of conversations between authors, parents and educators, is launching these discussions on Facebook to expand beyond the recorded interview series they started with authors in 2009. Monthly topics will include tips for encouraging reluctant readers, managing family budgets during lean times, and the importance of doing volunteer work as a family. The public is encouraged to get involved by offering advice based on their own experiences.
"Our goal is to continue providing quality resources to families through book reviews, interviews with authors and experts, and relevant online resources," said Julia Kennedy, creator of Summit Series for Families. "The parents and teachers who visit our site and participate in our author interviews can be a tremendous source of inspiration to each other and we wanted to provide a platform for sharing more ideas."
Facebook fans who wish to be eligible for the random $50 gift card drawing on October 27 just have to enter their name and email address. Fans can share with their friends for additional entries. Future contests will involve submitting tips on different topics and the winner may be selected by a vote.
