“This is a very exciting time for Campus Living Centers – our research confirms that the US student housing market represents a significant opportunity for growth, particularly with respect to small and mid-sized colleges and universities,” said Brian Freeman, Vice-President of Campus Living Centers. “We have a solid track record that proves the success of our model. We are confident that our integrated service delivery can improve the operating performance of residences and enhance the student experience”.

An affiliate of Campus Living Centers has recently purchased a student housing development in Kalamazoo, Michigan, located adjacent to Western Michigan University, and plans to move into other US markets are being explored. Specifically, CLC provides schools with:

  •     Creative financing solutions for the creation of additional student housing on-campus;
  •     Management of existing residence facilities;
  •     Administrative support;
  •     Summer marketing of accommodation and conference space;
  •     New residence construction;
  •     Creative strategies for continued financial growth and expansion.

There are currently over 20,000,000 post secondary students in the United States and a significant number of these students live in purpose-built student housing or in traditional residences found on- campus. Given the need for additional student housing, combined with the desire to improve current housing stock, Campus Living Centers sees a significant opportunity to build on their proven model and serve the needs of post secondary clients in the United States.

“Since partnering with Campus Living Centers, we have realized significant financial gains, as well as a service delivery model that has had an immediate positive impact on students” said Shawn Chorney, Vice-President Student Services, Canadore College.. “The management of our residences is streamlined and efficient, allowing the College the ability to focus on core academic initiatives, with the confidence in knowing that this vital aspect of campus life is being managed by proven professionals. In addition, Campus Living Centers is currently building a 200 bed residence on-campus that the company will also own and manage”.
