Stoltenberg Consulting, Inc., a leading healthcare information technology consulting firm, will lead a focus group on Oct. 27 during next week’s CHIME11 Fall CIO Forum in San Antonio, Texas., to discuss the increasing shortage of healthcare IT professionals and explore what hospitals can do to remain competitive for IT resources. The focus group – “Train to Win – Another Step Further” – will examine the issues around IT staffing obstacles and the pain points hospitals are experiencing as they prepare to achieve meaningful use requirements and other industry- and government-mandated standards.

This is the second year in a row that Stoltenberg has led a focus group on this topic. Stoltenberg is using the feedback and insight from the participants to help develop protocols and initiatives aimed at alleviating the pressure felt by hospitals that are trying to train, educate and staff IT teams while aggressively implementing new IT systems and standards.

“With IT staff shortages and meaningful use deadlines looming, innovation is the key to solving some of the headaches being felt by the hospital C-Suite,” said Sheri Stoltenberg, CEO of Stoltenberg Consulting. “As consultants, we fully understand these obstacles and are actively exploring ways to optimize resources, training and personnel that make hospital executives’ lives easier.”

Professionals attending the focus group session can expect a two-way dialogue on these issues, as the session is designed for pitching ideas, educating participants and sharing experiences. A 1.5 continuing education unit (CEU) will also be offered upon completion of the focus group session

In addition to several CHIME Foundation Focus Groups, attendees can also earn up to one CEU credit for specific sessions during the conference, including track sessions and keynote sessions. Other events will take place during the conference, including an annual golf outing, networking luncheon and dinners and sightseeing in San Antonio.
