New website dedicated to resources for Fathers Includes The Resolution Books by Stephen and Alex Kendrick and Priscilla Shirer and Resolution Certificates

To accompany the release of the new movie, Courageous, Outreach Inc. is offering a resource website with a collection of products inspired by Courageous that churches and the public can use to help share the principles of the movie with their congregations' families and fathers.

Courageous, the fourth release of Sherwood Pictures, the moviemaking ministry of Sherwood Church in Albany, Georgia, has already seen box-office success. The movie joins Fireproof, Facing the Giants and Flywheel as entertaining cinematic productions that impact lives through heartfelt stories of faith and hope.

The movie journeys into the lives of four law enforcement officers. When tragedy hits each of the four, the men are left wrestling with their hopes, fears and faith as well as their fathering. The movie realistically depicts the issues related to families who live without a courageous father. According to All Pro Dad, in the United States over 36% of all children (24.7 million) live without their biological fathers. The negative impact of a father’s absence can be seen in education, suicide and behavior studies. A child from a fatherless home is 9 times more likely to drop out of high school as 71% of all high school dropouts come from fatherless homes as cited in the National Principals Report on the State of High Schools. According to the U.S. D.H.H.S. Bureau of the Census 63% of youth suicides are from fatherless homes. And a recent Center for Disease Control report reveals that 85% of all children that exhibit behavioral disorders come from fatherless homes.

Working with several of the official Courageous product partners, including B&H Publishing, LifeWay Christian Resources, and DaySpring, Outreach, Inc. has launched a website dedicated to Courageous-inspired products including two books titled, The Resolution for Men and The Resolution for Women. The Resolution for Men was written by Alex and Stephen Kendrick, the same writers responsible for the New York Times best seller The Love Dare book that was inspired by their screenwriting for Fireproof. Priscilla Shirer is the author of The Resolution for Women, adding the book to her long list of successful books aimed at helping women.

The site also offers replica prints of The Resolution document seen in the movie being signed by the main character, Adam Mitchell portrayed by Alex Kendrick is also available for men to sign for their families. The website also provides background information on the books, sample chapters and details about the Courageous commemorative certificate. Through the website visitors can also learn more about the movie, view trailers and the read biographies for the authors behind the Resolution books.
