Using Print Audit 6, NHS Hospital has gained full transparency of its print environment allowing them to remove 100’s of high cost devices and account for every print job.

With nearly 7,000 employees and a new facility being built, NHS Hospital’s IT Management team was tasked with developing a plan to move the entire IT infrastructure to the new location in a timely and efficient manner. However, the team had little visibility and understanding of the print environment as its current print tracking tool only provided a high level overview of network printing.

After running a pilot phase with 100 employees, the hospital rolled out Print Audit 6 to 4,000 machines. This offered the hospital full transparency of its printing activities and the ability to determine how to manage and move their users and devices to the new hospital in the most efficient way.

“We have already managed to identify and remove 100's of expensive to run printers without any adverse effects on our 3,000 users, significantly reducing our management and running costs. We produce regular reports for department heads. This has helped them to be more accountable and ensure printer use is not abused,” explains Randhawa. “We are in a strong position to be able to plan the move into the new building and have greater control of our environment – printing is now transparent.”
