Legal IQ, a division of IQPC, announces the Cyber-Risk & Data Breach Management Summit, taking place November 30 to December 2, 2011 in New York City. The Summit provides innovative tools and fresh takes on traditional processes and tools to give organizations new approaches and real-life examples to consider and apply to their own cyber-risk and data breach management programs.

A recent study by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and Internet Security Alliance noted cyber security investment is not keeping up with growing cyber threats. In a recent interview with Legal IQ, Larry Clinton, CEO and President of Internet Security Alliance, addresses the findings of the study. He states, “Many organizations are still misunderstanding what cyber security is all about. They assume it’s an IT issue… in reality cyber security is an enterprise-wide risk management issue.” He goes on to detail what companies need to focus on in the podcast interview, available here.

Keeping the balance between budgetary constraints, information security needs, and regulatory requirements is a daunting task that requires a combination of cutting-edge technology, business expertise and cost efficiencies. The Summit will feature education on topics including:

  •     Managing security risks while maximizing productivity
  •     Emerging risks from new technologies and social networking
  •     How to respond to a data breach
  •     Understanding how cyber-risk insurance coverage hedges risk

And include network sessions with regulators, law enforcement and leading experts in legal, risk management, and information security.

The Cyber-Risk & Data Breach Management Summit features confirmed speakers from global leaders in Cyber-Security including Baker Hughes Incorporated, Citizens Financial Group, Inc., Hewlett-Packard, NASA, United Technologies Corporation, ACE USA, Beazley and more.
