Facebook makes it easy to call on your friends for a little extra help when you need it most. That’s what Friends with Brainefits is all about. When you make it personal, you make it stick.
Madison, Wis. (PRWEB) October 20, 2011
StudyBlue®, an online and mobile study system for students, announces the launch of Friends with Brainefits, a new Facebook application. Friends with Brainefits allows students to leverage their friends to make them smarter, and – just as important – to add fun to studying difficult subjects.
Friends with Brainefits helps students remember important concepts in their most critical subjects by challenging their Facebook friends to use need-to-know terms in creative and unique ways. Every day (or every other), Friends with Brainefits posts a term and definition from a subject-specific flashcard deck to the user’s Facebook wall. Examples are included in the Friends with Brainefits SlideShare presentation.
According to Becky Splitt, StudyBlue CEO, “Students retain concepts best when they connect with them on a personal level. Students interact with classmates on StudyBlue, but often the people they sit next to aren’t the ones that know them. Facebook makes it easy to call on your friends for a little extra help when you need it most. That’s what Friends with Brainefits is all about. When you make it personal, you make it stick. Think of it as the first integration of your class graph with your social graphs in a highly relevant way.”
Friends with Brainefits allows Facebook users to select from over 30 subjects, each of which contains 100 terms and definitions culled from StudyBlue’s collection of online flashcards. Users can practice for college entrance exams like the ACT®, SAT®, GRE® and MCAT® tests; learn vocabulary in Spanish, German and French; study key concepts in Biology, Psychology, Economics, Anatomy and Art History; or use the app for Advanced Placement exam prep including AP® US History, AP Biology and AP US Government tests.
