In learning about Witch City, The Young Witches of Salem, receive a summons to attend a party, by none other than Lord Vlad, Gothic Magician, and King of the New England Vampires. They are caught up in the question going around Hollywood, "Are Witches the next Vampires?" and this weekend they will see how to handle being a Witch at The Salem Vampires Masquerade Ball.

I love to feel people’s energy. I love being able to touch people and help them release their negative emotions - Danielle Young

As Salem celebrates Haunted Happenings, the month long festival featuring all things Halloween, The Young Witches continue to explore the Witch City. On Saturday, October 22nd, the team is preparing for The Salem Vampire Masquerade Ball, having been personally invited by the host, Christian Day, of The Festival of the Dead. In describing this year’s theme, Christian delights in telling people “This is the Cirque Macabre, where the circus has come to Salem with more than mere amusement. Witness the ravenous bloodlust of the undead hordes, led by the sinister ringmaster…Jezebel. It will be a feast for all the senses, a party people will remember for years to come”.

In preparation the Young Witches have been receiving lessons from Lord Vlad, King of the New England Vampires, on the proper etiquette of the Vampiric lifestyle. Lexi, Caitlin, Danielle, Peter and Melissa are spending time learning about sanguine vampirism as well as psychic vampirism. They will then share their newly acquired skills at The Salem Vampire Masquerade Ball as part of Lord Vlad’s personal House entourage, serving as part of the Dark Court.

The study of Witchcraft only lightly touches on vampirism, and for the team this is an area largely unexplored except in books and movies. Only one of the Young Witches has any experience with vampirism. Danielle Young, prior to becoming a member of The Young Witches of Salem cast, considered herself a practitioner of vampirism. Danielle has studied the subject deeply, including the works of Vampire expert Michelle Belanger, author of Psychic Vampire Codex. Danielle has also had personal training from Lord Vlad himself. Young offers this explanation “I love to feel people’s energy. I love being able to touch people and help them with my abilities. What many people call vampirism is really a way to create a psychic release of pent-up energy. The energy taken from a person can then be purified and used to heal them. It’s a wonderful feeling to see someone renewed after a session.”

The organizers of the Festival of the Dead events provide first rate entertainment for The Salem Vampires Masquerade Ball. At this 18+ party the attendees will hear the Gothic and Industrial Sounds of Addambombb, see the macabre fashion show by the Fool’s Mansion, witness the Dark Magic by Vampire King Vlad, watch undead circus performers, and be in awe of Jezebel’s dark dance of blood. It will be an amazing night for the Young Witches of Salem as they watch and share in the celebration.
