Words, they yield the power to inspire greatness, to influence the footsteps of mankind, and to even alter the course of one’s life. Whether written or spoken, words can be the willing participants in healing humanity, or the reluctant co-creators of destruction and mayhem. These simple, but insightful observations of the power of ‘the word’ in this reality are brought home to us in startling clarity as C.M. Webster shares her own unique and simple guide to life through The Diary of a Modern-Day Sufi.
For those who are unfamiliar with the title Sufi, the author offers her own brief interpretation. The Sufi is first and foremost a seeker of spiritual liberation of an ardent campaigner for peace. Its meaning has also been interpreted as ‘wise one’ and some say ‘Messenger for God’. The aim of the Sufi is to promote harmony, both within themselves and society, through love and acceptance. The Diary of a Modern-Day Sufi is about discovering who we really are! Webster encourages everyone to open their hearts and minds to discover the limitless possibilities we all possess in creating this reality.
As readers browse through this inspiring book, they will be presented with numerous observations of what individuals make of this wondrous thing called life, and how, based largely upon other’s often distorted viewpoints of life, they set about creating their own experiences of it. While Webster’s words may appear simple, they hold great insight and can be a powerful catalyst for change if we are prepared to allow it. Webster urges everyone to look beyond the self-imposed prisons created by themselves in this reality, and allow love to be the one true guiding force for the new millenium.
