Adoption story to be featured at the 2011 New York Library Association Book Exhibit.

From the author who shared a powerful little prayer book in 2009 with The Whisperings of God comes another stirring read that touches the heart and soul. Author Maxine E. Smith offers readers a different kind of love story that will move them to smiles and tears. In Love Runs Deep: The Adoption of Little Billy, readers get to meet an orphan child and the man who makes room for him in his heart.

Love Runs Deep is a thrilling novel based on the life of Jeff Wright. He accidentally encounters an African boy crying over the body of his dead father who was killed in a fatal misunderstanding. The boy’s mother had been gone far too long for the boy to recall. Jeff could not leave this homeless urchin behind even if it would cost him his social and love life. This book recounts the trials and tribulations of this white man in his effort to raise and protect the native boy. Will this child find happiness in the world, or will he be unloved and unwanted—the victim of a broken home?

A heartwarming story, Love Runs Deep takes readers on a soul-searching journey filled with character, inspiration and everyday life. It will carry them on a unique voyage along life’s highway with laughter, suspense, and excitement that will fuel the imagination.

This book will be featured at the New York Library Association Book Exhibit in Saratoga Springs, NY on November 2-5, 2011.

About the Author
The author used the name Billy in telling her story. She appeared to be a happy child. In real life, she wanted everyone to think she was a happy-go-lucky little girl. The whole neighborhood knew differently. They had seen her cruel great-aunt many times beating her and heard her blood-curdling cry. Mrs. Burnside seemed to enjoy shaming her before her friends. The people in the neighborhood pity her. She was ashamed to let people know just how bad her life was. She tried many times to end her life. But someone always found her and stopped her. She was one of the many giveaway children of the Great Depression. She would like to tell all mothers to please don’t give their daughters away. They could never dream of what some of them go through.

The author’s life has been transformed by the grace of God. She gives her testimony. She feels her life is a memorable treasure to others who may have suffered at the hands of another. God works in mysterious ways; she can bear witness to God’s substantive hand in her life, once she gets on the other side of the line and look back. In 2009, she wrote The Whisperings of God, published by the Xlibris Corporation, 1-888-795-4274. It is a powerful little book of prayer, inspired by God’s whisperings into the heart of his servant.
