It’s the privilege of nearly every grandparent to tell their grandchildren stories at bedtime, and every so often one of those stories is so well-loved that they’re forced to repeat it again and again. With the publication of her new children’s book “Down by the Sea” (published by AuthorHouse), author Robbie Zeigler’s granddaughter will have her story immortalized.
An excerpt from “Down by the Sea”:
“On a bright sunny afternoon Jade and Caden strolled to the beach with their mom and dad. Jade had been imagining a sand castle in her mind, tall, magical, and enchanting. Shortly after they arrived she began building it in the warm moist sand. Jade was playing in the sand, her castle almost complete, when something off in the distance caught her attention.
She could see something shinny and moving next to a large rock that was not far off shore. Jade continued to play but soon her curiosity got the better of her and dropping a handful of sand into her castle building cup she went to investigate.”
When Jade finds a new friend in mermaid Belle, she is amazed when a magical crown lets her become a mermaid, too, and explore the underwater landscape.
“This book was inspired by my youngest granddaughter, Jade,” the author says. “She wanted a mythical story told about her. It is a story about an adventure under the sea, a wonderful little girl, a child mermaid and the power of a magic crown.”
