Our goal is for this program to have a strong national presence that provides our members a significant opportunity to benchmark with their peers, and we feel that we are well on our way to achieving that goal.

Clarity Group, Inc. will hold a webinar on October 26, 2011, on the Benchmark for Excellence in Patient Safety TM (BFEPS) Program specifically designed for critical access, small and rural hospitals. Since the launch of the program in June 2011, small and rural hospitals from five states have joined the program and momentum is growing nationally. The complimentary webinar on October 26 focuses on this success and describes the first set of reports to be released to members of the BFEPS Program.
The BFEPS Program is the first of its kind for critical access, small and rural facilities. BFEPS enables its participants to benchmark on the important areas of falls, medication and infection events and to share patient safety best practices. The first Quarterly User Group meeting is being scheduled for early November for the current members of the program. These meetings will give participants the opportunity to get to know their peers and to review the Quarterly Comparison Reports, which will detail the data that has been collected in the past 3 months.
“We introduced the BFEPS Program in June during a highly attended webinar that affirmed to us that this is something that is needed and wanted in the small and rural setting. Since signing on with participants from five different states, we have received high levels of interest from four other states which further supports the need and interest. Our goal is for this program to have a strong national presence that provides our members a significant opportunity to benchmark with their peers, and we feel that we are well on our way to achieving that goal,” states Anna Marie Hajek, President and CEO of Clarity Group, Inc.
Participation in the Benchmark for Excellence in Patient Safety™ Program is free to those critical access, small and rural facilities that use the Healthcare SafetyZone® Portal (Portal), Clarity’s web-based tool for patient safety data collection, follow-up and analysis. Using the Portal brings great benefit to the management of patient safety at each organization and ensures a common data collection format for the benchmarking process.
Clarity invites critical access, small and rural providers to attend the second complimentary webinar to learn more about the National Benchmark for Excellence in Patient Safety™ Program specifically designed for critical access, small and rural healthcare organizations. The webinar also provides a brief demonstration of the Healthcare SafetyZone® Portal, the web-based patient safety event management system used in facilities all across the nation.
