The Van Gogh Gallery website gets online restoration with a web redesign from The Net Impact in St. Louis, Missouri.

St. Louis web marketing company, The Net Impact, redesigned Van Gogh Gallery's website

The Net Impact redesigned over 2,000 pages for The Van Gogh Gallery website

The Van Gogh Gallery recently completed a website redesign with the help of The Net Impact, a St. Louis web design, web development and web marketing company. New design updates will better complement the artwork displayed on the website and make it easier for Vincent van Gogh fans to browse and learn all about Van Gogh’s life as well as his famous and lesser known works.

The Net Impact made several changes to improve the look and feel of the site. New callout graphics, updated image catalog pages and several navigation and design updates make the website much easier to use and explore. The updated website includes design and content changes to over 2,000 web pages. As part of the web redesign, The Net Impact incorporated a slice of Van Gogh’s Starry Night into the new logo for The Van Gogh Gallery. To brighten the website’s appearance, the background color was changed to white bringing a cleaner look and feel to the site.

The Net Impact also added rotating banners to the website. A home page banner features some of Van Gogh’s most famous paintings and incorporates navigation leading to interior web pages. Van Gogh’s famous paintings include Starry Night, Almond Blossom, Wheat Field with Cypresses, Still Life: Vase with Twelve Sunflowers, and others. The second rotating feature resides at the bottom of each web page displaying famous Van Gogh quotes.

The Net Impact worked to redesign Van Gogh Gallery’s website to enhance the user experience allowing visitors to more easily explore information about Van Gogh’s works and life. In order to accomplish this, the site search box was moved to a consistent location on every page, and the text in the search box was made easier to read thereby allowing visitors to quickly find information. In addition, the body text on each page was also made easier to read.

“The reason that The Van Gogh Gallery exists is to share an in depth look into the life and works of Vincent van Gogh,” said Sonya Sawall, Online Marketing Director for The Van Gogh Gallery. “By revamping our web design we’re just polishing the looking glass creating a more appealing invitation for Van Gogh fans to come and learn about one of the greatest creative minds to live. We sincerely appreciate the input and talent that The Net Impact brought to this project. It’s been truly amazing to watch creativity at work in the digital realm too.”
